The IPL Process

Smooth the look of your skin with intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy. IPL is similar to a laser treatment but uses many different wavelengths of light to penetrate the second layer of the skin, leaving the top layer smooth and with less damage.

IPL treatments can offer many aesthetic benefits, like improving the appearance of fine lines and sun damage.

During Your Treatment

The IPL procedure starts with prep, including cleaning the area of the skin that will be treated, applying a cooling gel, and setting you up with protective glasses.

The start of your treatment may feel like a slight pinch, but it should not feel painful. The length of an appointment can vary depending on the area being treated and may take around 30 minutes.

After Your Treatment

You may need around 3–6 IPL sessions for the best results, but everyone’s experience is different.

After your treatment, your skin may feel red and sensitive, similar to a sunburn, and you may experience slight bruising or swelling. These are normal side effects and should typically subside in 2–3 days.
