Our Team

Our team is composed of eye health professionals who are dedicated to our patients.

Our doctors are constantly updating their repertoire with the latest innovations in eye care.  Whether you suffer from dry eyes, or cataracts, or just need a new contact prescription, you can rest assured that you will receive the most up-to-date and advanced eyecare possible.

Our opticians are constantly researching new advancements in lenses and contact lenses to ensure that you, the patient, are receiving the absolute best eyewear possible.  Sea View offers the latest lenses that cannot be found in big chain stores or online.  These require special measurements and are custom-made for each individual and the frame that they choose.

Finally, all of our staff loves to help people find their newest frame style.  We search worldwide to bring you the most innovative, new, uniquely hand-crafted eyewear possible.  We are professionals at finding just the right frame for each person and our carefully curated collections are honed to include something for everyone but with one thing in mind… your specs should be uniquely you!

Stephanie Mitchell, OD

Dr. Stephanie Mitchell has a long history with Sea View.  She interned here in the early 2000s with Dr. Mark Bisson and Dr. Krys Gwizdak, so some of our long-time patients may remember her from those days!

Dr. Mitchell is a local, she was raised in Whittier and did her undergraduate degree at CSULB.  She attended optometry school at the Southern California College of Optometry, now known as Marshall B. Ketchum Univerisity.  Dr. Mitchell is certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry.  She is also Glaucoma certified by the California State Board of Optometry.

Dr. Mitchell completed her clinical training at the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center and the Downtown LA VA Clinic.  Dr. Mitchell has worked in a wide variety of settings including pediatrics, ophthalmology, and refractive surgery centers.  In 2013, Dr. Mitchell had LASIK to correct her near-sightedness and like most people, she will tell you that it was the best thing ever.  For this reason, refractive surgery is a topic she is passionate about and would love to discuss with you if you are ever curious about LASIK.

When Dr. Bisoon retired in 2015 and sold the practice to Dr. Gwizdak, they both agreed that Dr. Mitchell would be a wonderful fit at Sea View to resume care of Dr. Bisson’s patients and help Dr. Gwizdak grow the practice.  For Dr. Mitchell, the journey with Sea View has come full circle, it is her home away from home.
